NO COMPROMISE!

Q. Why don’t you see Christian food stalls at sporting events?
A. Because Christians don’t make concessions!

Satan will often attempt to prevent, or at least reduce/minimize a Christian’s relationship with God, or his ministry for God. Even Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, tried this.

28 And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: intreat for me.
Exodus 8:28 The BIBLE

Pharaoh had at first attempted to prevent the Israelites’ service to God in the wilderness. When that didn’t work, he appeared to compromise, letting them go into the wilderness to minister to God, but demanding that they not go far. He even appeared to be Godly himself, by asking them to pray for him! But this limited trip wasn’t what God required, so compromising would have been outright disobedience, and merely the beginning of their abandoning their relationship with God altogether!

After Security at an outdoor evangelism event unsuccessfully attempted to move the event elsewhere, a well-dressed passerby demanded unsuccessfully that the sound volume be reduced.

Satan continues unsuccessfully to attempt to shut down God’s service, or to at least lessen it. He will use all kinds of contrived excuses to bring down the work and glory of God. It’s important to recognize(expect?) this, and to refuse compromise, whether it be public or personal. His excuses can sound reasonable, or even holy! Satan’s original lie tried that:

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Genesis 3:5 The BIBLE

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
10 But the God of all grace, Who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
11 To Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
I Peter 5:8-11 The BIBLE
